- Matter is anything that occupies a space and has mass.
- Volume is the space that is occupied by matter.
- Mass is the amount of substances the object contains.

- Melting is the change of matter from solid state to liquid state.
- Condensation is the change of matter from gaseous state to liquid state.
- Freezing is the change of matter from liquid state to liquid state.
- Evaporation is the change of matter from liquid state to liquid state.

- Element is the building unit of matter, it is the simplest form of matter that can't be analyzed into two substances as more.
- Elements are classified into:
* Metals:
They are solid elements at room temperature "except mercury which is liquid", shiny, can be hammered, pulled and bent, good conductors of heat and electricity, and have high melting and boiling points.
* Non-metals:
Some are solids elements, some are gasses and only Bromine is a liquid, are not shiny, cannot be hammered, pulled and bent, bad conductors of heat and electricity "except graphite which is a good conductor"

- Physical changes are changes of shape or state of matter and not in its structure.
- Chemical changes are changes in structure of matter, new substances are produced.

- Physical change: the change in the shape or state of a substance not in its structure.
- Chemical change: the change in the substance structure that produces a new substance or substance with different properties.
- Burning process: a chemical change to a flammable substance when its temperature increases to the ignition in the presence of oxygen.

Concepts of the lesson:

- The moon:
It is a dark body that seems luminous in the sky because it reflects the sunlight falling on its surface.
- Tide phenomenon:
It is the rising of water level to cover the shores and it reaches its highest level in the middle of the lunar month, when the moon is a full moon.
- Ebb phenomenon:
It is the returning back of water to its normal level once again.
- Moon phases:
Change of the size of the lightening part of the moon due to its revolving around the Earth each 28 days starts as crescent then full moon and end with crescent again.

Concepts of the lesson:

- Weather: It is the predicated condition of atmosphere in one place over a short period of time no more than a week.
- Maximum Temperature: the expected temperature at day time.
- Minimum Temperature: the expected temperature at night.
- Wind: the movement of air from a high pressure area to a low pressure area.

Concepts of the lesson:

- Storms: strong wind blow on some areas, it divided into: Dusty storms and Ice storms.
- Tornadoes: strong, spiral-shaped storms that occur due to difference in temperature on the Earth.
- Floods: accumulation of rain water in big amount and strong falling of water from high places to low places.
